About me
I'm Dieter Peirs — designer, developer and part-time lecturer at a university in Ghent, where I teach web design and development to the next generation of experts.
Ghent, Belgium
I have 22 years of experience with designing and building websites, from brand to code, always bespoke. My background covers brand identity, front-end development and product design. I work without templates, because each project is different. And I build as light and accessible as possible, because a website that loads slowly or doesn't work for everyone is not good design — no matter how beautiful it looks.
Outside of the screen, I build furniture and make things. The same way: figuring out what something is for, removing everything that is not needed, and making the rest as good as possible.
